as Nwabali nominated for goalkeeper of the year

 

Nigeria’s duo of Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong have been nominated for 2024 CAF player of the year award.

Troost-Ekong was named as the best player at the 2024 Africa cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire, while Lookman netted three goals enroute to the final.

He also bagged hat-trick in the final of the UEFA Europa League when his side Atalanta beat Bayer Leverkusen to clinch the title.

Others notable on the list are Achraf Hakimi (Morocco, PSG), Simon Adingra (Cote d’Ivoire, Brighton), Ronwen Williams (South Africa Orlando Pirates).

Similarly, Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has been nominated for 2024 African best goalkeeper.

Nwabali was instrumental to Super Eagles’ second placed finished at 2024 Africa cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire

Also nominated is Cameroon’s Andre Onana, who currently plies his trade in the English Premier League.

Others in the list are Morocco’s Munir El Kajoui, Algeria’s Oussama Benbot, Ivory Coast’s Yahia Fofana, DR Congo’s Lionel Mpasi, and Tunisia’s Amanallah Memmiche.

Meanwhile, the award will be held at Marrakech in Morocco by December 16th.
