Hundreds of persons have been displaced from their homes by flood in Bajoga community, in the Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe State.

 

According to report, the flood which covered both roads and homes of residents, is as a result of heavy rain in the area on Saturday.

 

Confirming the incident, the Executive Secretary of Gombe State Emergency Management Agency, Haruna Abdullahi, regretted the havoc destruction of property by the flood.

 

Abdullahi also said: “We are going for an assessment. We were just informed about 30 minutes ago. Right now I’m in Gombe. We will be going to Bajoga soon.”

 

He also stated that they are yet to determine whether any life was lost to the flood.

 

“We don’t know for now if there is any casualty, until we find out.” He said.
