Motorists and commuters in Ekiti State have been left stranded following the suspension of services by commercial drivers.
A large number of civil servants, traders and other commuters were left stranded due to lack of commercial vehicles and motorcycles to convey them to their respective destinations.
At first, it was believed that the situation was due to fuel scarcity until it was discovered that none of the commercial Drivers were working.
When contacted, some of the driver’s claimed that it was a directive from their leaders at the state level to suspend operation for the day.
According to them, the directive was to suspend operations and have a joint prayers to pray against accident.
However, fuel scarcity has continued to bite harder everyday, as at the time this report was filed, a large number of petrol stations are closed and the few dispensing fuel in the whole of Ado Ekiti, is doing so at #274 per litre, a situation that has left many residents with worries and concerns.
They have called on the government to find a lasting solution to this problem as the constant fluctuation is frustrating.
