The Ekiti State Government has promised Hoteliers in the state to put an end to multiple taxation which will enable them to operate their businesses without running at loss.

The Chairman, Ekiti State Board of Internal Revenue, Niran Olatona gave the assurance during a meeting with representatives of the Ekiti State Hotel Owners Forum in Ado-Ekiti.

He stated that some taxes in the state have been harmonised while various taxes across the country will soon be harmonised by a committee set up by federal government and headed by Taiwo Oyedele.

Olatona urged them to cooperate with the government by paying their taxes regularly with a promise to partner with the Forum to increase their patronage.

Earlier, the President of the Hotel Owners Forum, Fola Ayedun highlighted problems being faced by hotel owners in the state which include multiple taxation, low patronage, lack of electricity and bad roads.

He pledged the support and cooperation of hotel owners to Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration and requested for government patronage for the Forum members.
