The visually impaired beauty queen, who contested against all odds alongside 18 others to emerge, Miss, Port Harcourt City Humanity 2022, said she faced a lot of criticisms.

According to her, “many people discouraged me from contesting. Most of them were my family members. Some went to the extent of warning me not to flog the MC with my cane on the stage as I can not see.”

She told newsmen that her mom was her biggest supporter although she was shocked at the idea of me contesting at first.”

“With encouragement from my mom, I gingered myself to make a difference. I had little fears when I was called to compete after applying, I wondered if the organizers would accept me or would get tired of me along the line and ask me to go home. But with encouragement from the organizers and others, I competed, won, made a difference, and made history.” She said.

The Queen who lost her eyesight at the age of 8, says she hopes to show those who look down on people with disabilities, that there is ability even in their disabilities.
