The Nigeria Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ) in Ekiti state has charged the wife of the state governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji to prioritize girl child and women development in the state through more concerted efforts in programmes that will promote gender advocacy in their interest.

The women Journalists said this to the Ekiti first lady in a congratulatory message to felicitate with her on the occasion of her birthday.

NAWOJ in a press release by her Chairperson, Mrs Fatima Bello and the secretary, Mrs Adewumi Ademiju also entreated the first lady to continue to protect the interest of women and girl child in the state.

“Use your esteemed position to attract more opportunities and benefits for girl child and women for them to also have positive impacts during her time.

“We congratulate the first lady as she adds another year wishing her long live in good health and successful tenure for her and husband.” They added.

The union also expressed confidence in the Oyebanji led administration which it says has demonstrated strong interest in gender balancing with a female deputy governor and Secretary to the state governor (SSG)
