The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State Chapter, has commended Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, wife of Ekiti State Governor, for her philanthropic efforts, particularly in supporting widows and orphans through her Widows and Orphans Hope (WAOH) initiative.
In a statement signed by Chairman Mrs. Adewumi Ademiju and Secretary Mrs. Funmi Falae, NAWOJ expressed gratitude for empowering 300 widows with working tools and providing scholarships to 50 orphans from primary school to higher institutions.
This gesture has been described as a “giant stride” that has brought hope and smiles to those in need.
Ademiju noted that Dr. Oyebanji’s kindness has not gone unnoticed, as NAWOJ prayed for God to reward her kindness and thanked her for championing the cause of women, girls, and the less privileged in the state. Her efforts have also been recognized for making the Ekiti government the most women-friendly in the country.
According to the statement, the Ekiti government’s commitment to women’s empowerment is evident, with the highest number of elected and appointed female officials in the country. Dr. Oyebanji’s leadership has contributed significantly to this achievement.
