…charges Girls to be focused, determined

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State Chapter had commended the efforts of the first lady of the State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi on her numerous efforts instituting various programs and activities at empowering, mentoring, educating and promoting the interest of girl child so as to instill and boost confidence in them for societal development.

In a statement by the Chairperson, Fathima Bello and its Secretary, Adewumi Ademiju to commemorate 2022 International Day of Girl Child themed: “Our time is now, our right, out future”, NAWOJ noted the celebration of the day of a girl child to have immersely broken the cycle of discrimination and violence in order to encourage young females to be independent.

They thereby called on all Stakeholders in the state not to relent on the campaign, while enjoining female Children to be focused and determined in order to achieve a successful future.

“NAWOJ lauded wife of the state governor,Erelu Bisi Fayemi on” her numerous efforts – instituting various programs and activities at empowering, mentoring,educating and promoting the interest of girl child to instil and boost Confidence in them for societal development.”

“The multiple roles play by girl child in the society before and after they reach adulthood are enormous, they go to school, help in domestic chores and face life challenges.

“The purpose of this day is to spread awareness about the gender based discriminations that girls face in our society and to bring change in the attitude towards girls”

“The women Journalists reinstate their committment in prioritizing the convening/ featuring of programs and reports that champion the course of girl child and women at large.”

“NAWOJ therefore urge the Stakeholders not to relent on the efforts at liberating the girl child from oppression, discrimination and violence of all sorts.”
