The State Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Ekiti State, Mrs Atitebi Simiat has sought the collaboration of the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Communications (CCO) in creating more awareness for Group, Individual and Family Social Health Insurance Programme (GIFSHIP).
The Programme is an initiative of the Federal Government that gives easy access to quality and affordable health care for the people.
Atitebi made this known during a courtesy visit with her team to the SSA Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotosho’s office, on Tuesday.
Atitebi who commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for prioritizing the welfare of Ekiti people, said that GIFSHIP guarantees the provision of quality health care services with a token of fifteen thousand naira per life per annum.
She urged the Governor’s Aide to use her good office to set up sensitization engagements with people while also urging both the State and the National Assembly members to assist people in their constituencies key into the programme.
The NHIA Coordinator expressed the readiness of Federal Government to make quality health care services affordable for all Nigerians.
Responding, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotosho assured the National Health Insurance Authority team of a robust working relationship that would enhance a healthy living of the Ekiti citizens.
Omotosho disclosed that the Oyebanji led administration has put so many efforts and measures in place to meet the health needs of Ekiti people.
The Governor’s aide who appreciated the NHIA leadership for taking a step to collaborate with the community Communications office was presented with documents detailing the available health insurance products by the NHIA office.
