The Nigerian Army’s 27 task force battalion have killed several Islamic State for West African Province (ISWAP) fighters in Yobe state.

According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the ISWAP members converged at Wulle to launch an attack on the nearest troops formation before they were engaged by the troops.

The publication reads, “It was gathered that the insurgents had converged at a location given as Wulle with motorcycles and vehicles with the intention to carry out attack on the nearest troops formation.”

“Acting on intelligence, the troops of fired several artillary at the terrorists which resulted in the killing of unspecified numbers of them.”

The publication added that some of the terrorists later returned on six motorcycles and one vehicle to evacuate the bodies of their members.
