The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a native doctor identified as Idowu Talabi for killing his 30 years old co-tenant, Isau Oluwatobiloba.
The suspect, in a statement by the State Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, was arrested following a report lodged at Ikenne divisional headquarters by the wife of the deceased.
She reported that she returned from Church vigil at about 6:00 am only to discover the lifeless body of her husband lying in the pool of his own blood, macheted to death by an unknown person.
Oyeyemi maintained that upon the report, the DPO Ikenne division, Ibrahim Ningi, led his detectives to the scene, where it was discovered that the deceased was macheted to death while sleeping on his bed.
After a thorough investigation, Idowu Talabi, who claimed to be a native doctor confessed to killing him because the deceased was fond of accusing him of stealing.
However, the cutlass he used to commit the crime had been recovered.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and prosecution.
