Exactly 29 years ago today, the 48-year-old Nigeria midfielder Austin Jay Jay Okocha dazzled fans in Germany’s top flight and worldwide with his amazing skills, trickery, and flair when he netted a magical goal for Frankfurt against Karlsruher.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star is admiringly remembered by fans of German club Eintracht Frankfurt, playing for the reigning Europa League winners between 1992 and 1996.

The mercurial midfielder dribbled past about five defenders, leaving them flat on the floor, before putting the back at the back of the world’s best goalkeeper Oliver Kahn’s net on the 31st August, 1993.

Many football magazines and German TV sports show Sportschau voted Okocha’s magnificent goal as Goal of the Season that year.

Meanwhile, Okocha’s goal against Frankfurt was picked by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as the greatest in the history of German football, per Goal.

Jay-Jay dribbled and nutmegged about five defenders before hitting it low into the corner and then went on with an iconic celebration as he pulled off his shirt.

The skilful superstar who spent four years at Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt ripped the entire Karlsruher SC defence before putting the ball past Kahn.
