The Olowo of Owo and Paramount Ruler of Owo Land, His Imperial Majesty,Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, has commended Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, for his courage and deep commitment at ensuring security of the lives and property of the people the State, by the establishment of the Amotekun Corps in line with the vision of the Development Agenda For Western Nigeria Commission (DAWN)
Oba Ogunoye disclosed this in Akure, while speaking on the theme: Building a Culture of Security, at the 2022 Annual Conference of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Ondo State Branch.
The Monarch also called on Human Resources Practitioners to begin to follow the global trends by evolving professions and workplace job demands which may not be in line with present’s status quo.
He noted the need to interrogate the relevance of the HR practice staff, in the ever changing globalized workplace environment, majorly to strengthen the practice in order to be relevant in the ever changing world.
He berated the issue of insecurity, adding that it is hydra headed and manifesting in many forms in the country notably, insurgency, terrorism, kidnapping and farmers/ herders conflict.
Oba Ogunoye added that it is difficult to practice any economic activities to the fullest without peace, which hitherto has negatively impacted on the socio-political and economic wellbeing of the people.
