In an incident along the Talata Mafara-Gusau highway in Zamfara State, a family of a bride-to-be, alongside other travelers, displayed remarkable courage as they thwarted a kidnapping attempt and killed a terrorist.

NEWSTODAYNG gathered that the family embarked on the journey to purchase wedding materials in Kano when armed bandits ambushed them, turning their plans into a nightmare as the armed suspects and on motorcycles, blocked the road, forcing vehicles to a halt.

With guns pointed at them, the bride-to-be, her parents, and two other relatives were coerced out of their car and into the nearby forest.

Faced with the imminent threat of abduction, the passengers, in a spontaneous response, rallied together and launched a courageous counterattack.

In a fierce struggle, they managed to overpower one of the bandits, resulting in his immediate demise.

Despite the other bandit escaping, the brave group seized two AK-47 rifles left behind.

After emerging from the forest, they promptly handed over the captured firearms to the military at a nearby checkpoint, ensuring the safety of others on the highway.

However, tragedy struck as one of the passengers suffered a sudden heart attack due to the traumatic experience and later passed away.
