The royal family of Ife, have welcomed a new queen to the palace, Olori Mariam Anako.

Olori Mariam, who happens to be the 4th wife of the Ooni after his 3 previous marriages collapsed, hails from the Ibira ethnic group of Kogi State and is an oil and gas executive with NestOil.

It is believed, that her getting him contracts with her position at the NestOil, made him have a soft spot for her and made their relationship blossom.

Miriam whose parents are based in Illorin lost her Dad at a tender age and grew up in the home of the former IGP, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, who was the boss of the Nigerian Police between 2012 to 2014 and is the in-law of Africa’s wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote.

Recall that the Ooni has been married 3 times and each marriage ended after some years.

His first marriage was to Olori Adebukola Bombota in 2008, before he became King. Their marriage ended a few years after.

Shortly after he became king in 2016, Ooni married Olori Wuraola Zainab. The marriage ended in 2017 without a child.

In 2018, the Ooni married Naomi Silekunola, a well-known prophetess. The marriage ended in 2021, one year after their son was born.

The Ooni however, has a grownup daughter who he had when he was a teenager.

Congratulations are in order to the new couple as Nigerians hope that this marriage will last.
