A somber atmosphere enveloped the CCC Grace of Comfort Parish in Ile-Ife, Osun State, following the tragic death of Most Superior Evangelist Olagbaju Moris Gbade Fadehan.
The revered church leader was reportedly killed on Monday evening within the premises of the church.
According to reports, the fatal incident occurred after a conflict arose between Fadehan and his serving assistant, Evangelist Olalekan Ogundipe.
The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation shortly after the conclusion of their church service.
Tragically, the altercation turned violent, with the suspect allegedly stabbing Fadehan, leading to his untimely demise on the spot.
Shockingly, the suspect then purportedly set the deceased ablaze while still wearing his religious garment, known as sutana.
Law enforcement swiftly responded to the distressing scene, apprehending the suspect. Evangelist Olalekan Ogundipe was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command confirmed the incident and assured that an investigation into the tragic event has commenced.
The authorities are working diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome killing of the Pastor.
