…extends olive branch to Kayode Ojo, Others

Ekiti State Governor-elect, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has commended Nigeria’s judicial system for standing up to the truth in the discharge of its responsibilities.

Oyebanji’s commendation came on the heels of Friday’s judgement by the appellate court, which threw out the case instituted by one of the contestants in the January 27 primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Engr. Kayode Ojo, challenging his emergence as the party’s flagbearer.

The Governor-elect who described the judgement as an affirmation of the credibility of the process that produced him, appealed to those that are aggrieved to give peace a chance and join hands with the party to keep Ekiti working.

While noting Ojo’s right to exercise his fundamental human right, Oyebanji invited him to be part of the process of continuity in Ekiti.

He said, “The Judgement is a testimony that the judiciary has remained fair in the discharge of its responsibilities.”

“l wish to congratulate the people of Ekiti State especially APC supporters for this landmark judgement. Again I want to urge our supporters to be magnanimous in victory and avoid provocative languages on social media because the party is one. Like I have always said, Engr. Ojo has every right to exercise his fundamental human right but having reached this stage, I am inviting him to be part of the process of continuity in Ekiti.”

“l want to assure Ekiti people that we will not fail them. My appeal to our people is to remain calm, avoid provocative utterances and be law abiding as we transit into the new government,” he said.
