The Chairman, Federal House of Representatives committee on delegated legislation, Hon Femi Bamisile said Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s urban renewal will make Ado-Ekiti attractive to Investors.

The ranking member of the House of Representatives, stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, on Tuesday.

The former Ekiti Assembly Speaker commended the Governor for commissioning three road projects at different locations in the capital city, saying it will further unlock the business opportunities abound in the state.

He hailed Oyebanji’s unflinching commitment to Urban Renewal Policy of his administration and  passionate zeal to transform Ado Ekiti capital city into a Mega Status.

The Federal Lawmaker, added that the  new roads: Jimoh Aliu-Adewumi in Adebayo area, Hospitals Management Board/Doctors’ Quarters Road;  and Obisesan-Oke Ala Link Road in  Basiri, complemented with solar-powered street lights, will facilitate security and boost nightlife.

Bamisile averred that the projects, which linked the city to some fastest growing  satellite towns will make contributions to the growth of hospitality and tourism businesses that can create jobs and wealth for the highly educated Ekiti youths.

His words, “Let me congratulate Governor Oyebanji on the commissioning of the three road projects. I know these will create a new vista of business opportunities in the benefiting sectors of the capital city and boost attempt to create a new city out of Ado Ekiti.

“With investment on the Airport by the state government, Nigeria Airspace Management  Agency and Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria will soon sign a memorandum of understanding with the state government on the running of the facility that will mark the beginning of flight operation.

“With this, Ekiti will be launched  on the global map as a place where good things happen”.

Bamisile stated that  the attempt to create a new city out of the existing Ado Ekiti will create wealth for land owners and rejig the local economy along Iworoko-Are-Afao-Ado Ekiti corridor where the new Ring Road roadmap traverse.

“This policy was in tandem with what Lagos did in Banana Highland, Lekki Pennisula, Victoria Garden City, Ikoyi and other fast growing satellite towns that are making Lagos a truly Mega City and one of the most sought destinations of choices for investors globally.

“If this dream is pursued to a logical end, then Ado Ekiti will join the league of mega cities soon and a destination of choice for major investors all over the globe and our state  will be better for it”.

Bamisile urged Ekiti residents, regardless of political inclinations,  to imbibe the spirit of reciprocity, by coalescing efforts with Governor Oyebanji, who has exhibited passion for inclusive governance, to make Ekiti great.
