The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has presented the Staff of Office to the new Alaafin of Oyo, Abimbola Owoade.
Makinde made the presentation on Monday at his office in Ibadan, the state capital.
Makinde had earlier approved Owoade’s appointment in an announcement made in a Friday statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade.
NEWSTODAYNG recalled that the Oyo Kingmakers had earlier selected Prince Lukman Gbadegesin as the next monarch but was rejected by the government over his alleged affiliation with Fulani herdsmen.
