The leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has extended its condolences to the Government and people of Ekiti State following recent attacks that resulted in the killing of two traditional rulers and the abduction of school pupils.

A delegation from RCCG, led by Pastor Tunde Abdullahi, Pastor in charge of RCCG Region 25, visited the Governor’s office in Ado-Ekiti on Monday to deliver the condolence message. Other members of the delegation included Pastors Jimi Ajibade, Joseph Olagbadegun, and Tunde Adelusi.

In a condolence letter signed by the Continental Overseer, RCCG Continent 3, Pastor Funso Odesola, the Church strongly condemned the violence and reiterated its commitment to supporting the state with prayers during these challenging times.

Governor Oyebanji expressed appreciation for the visit and conveyed gratitude to Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of RCCG, for his love and concern for the people of Ekiti State. He emphasized the importance of religious leaders coming together in prayer to address the security challenges facing Nigeria.

Highlighting government efforts to enhance security in the state, Governor Oyebanji urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly. He called on church leaders to encourage their congregations to cooperate with relevant authorities and report any unusual movements in their communities.

Pastor Tunde Abdullahi, speaking on behalf of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, expressed sympathy for the tragic incidents and encouraged the Governor to remain steadfast in leadership. He commended the Governor for his governance efforts and urged him to persevere in the face of challenges.

The meeting was attended by government officials including the Head of Service, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Special Advisers, and the Director General of Community Communications, among others.
