The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has on Friday night warned against the embarking on war despite the challenges plaguing Nigeria.
Adeboye, while speaking during the ongoing 2023 convention of the Church at the Redemption Camp in Ogun State said that the country is already fighting wars against certain challenges and such wars need to be won.
According to the revered cleric, although he was not in the force, but he was once at the battlefield, and he has an idea of what war looks like.
In his words: “If anybody asks me to choose between war and peace, I will choose peace.
“There are still places in Nigeria today that when ppl people go to bed, they are not sure they will not be killed tomorrow morning.
” We are still fighting war against some people who feel that if you are a farmer and you plant, what you have planted is food for their cows. And if their cows come in to eat your harvest and you complain, they kill you.
“We are still fighting war against hunger, kidnapping. We don’t want more wars. We want to win the ones we are fighting, and we don’t want fresh wars whether within or outside our borders”.
He therefore noted that Nigeria still needs a lot of prayers so citizens can live in peace.
