In a bid to uphold its reputation as a ‘Holy City,’ the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) campground in Mowe has implemented a ban on indecent dressing, with stern sanctions on violators.
The directive, outlined in a memo from the office of the Special Assistant to the General Overseer, Oladele Balogun, signals a commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the Redemption City.
According to Balogun, the stringent measures are deemed necessary to preserve the ‘Holy City’ status, and the sanctions won’t be limited solely to individuals caught dressing indecently. Rather, parents and guardians of such individuals will also face consequences for failing to ensure proper attire.
The memo states, “We wish to formally inform all residents of Redemption City that, in our commitment to preserving the city’s sanctity and upholding its esteemed ‘Holy City’ status, the mission authority is implementing stricter measures against indecent dressing throughout the city.
“Any individual apprehended for dressing indecently will face significant sanctions, and the same punishment will also be extended to the parent or legal guardian.”
The church authorities emphasize the importance of instilling Christian and dressing ethics in children to prevent unnecessary embarrassment. Security operatives and Kingsford Security have been tasked with enforcing these directives immediately, with a specific mandate not to allow anyone dressed indecently to enter Redemption City.
