… calls for development of road network in Igede



The Onigede of Igede-Ekiti, Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II, has called on Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti state to revamp Elemi River in the town to become a centre of tourism.

The Monarch stated this on Tuesday in Igede-Ekiti in preparation for his 64th coronation on the throne and 90th birthday.

The Monarch noted that Elemi River has lost its significance and hype since 1987 as a result of low flow of water.

In his words, “There are many rivers at Igede that flow to another town.

“One of them is Elemi, it’s a wonderful water in 1987 but since the water has not been flowing well again.

“So, we are calling on our Governor to help us revamp the river so that it can become a centre of tourism.”

While hailing Governor Oyebanji’s giant strides in the the state, the monarch, who later spoke through the Adara of Igede-Ekiti, Chief Peter Adeyinka Adeleye, urged Governor Oyebanji to develop the road from Iyin-Ekiti to Igede-Ekiti for ease transportation and development of the state.



“We need to Government to develop the road from Ado-Ekiti, to Iyin, Igede to Aramoko and to Ilesha which has been abandoned since 1983.

“It will be good if this road continue to ease traffic, enable business, to strive in the state and it will help the state to develop.”
