The Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Amaewhule has described the attempt to demolish the Assembly Quarters by the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara as a shameful act.

Amaewhule stated this on Thursday while addressing journalists after Fubara allegedly broke into the assembly to demolish its Quarters.

Speaking with other 26 other members of the assembly, he said the state governor is not ready to relay the dividends of democracy to the governed, which is very strange in the practice of Rivers State politics.

He said, “The Governor broke our gate, his thugs jumped the fence and entered the quarters of the House of Assembly Quarters.

“Something that is so shameful coming from a Governor, we have never seen any type of thing before. This is what proper executive rascality and it’s shameful.

“When we are supposed to be reaping the benefits of democracy, we have a governor who is not prepared to deliver the dividends to our people but only prepare to attack democratic Institution. What a shame!”
