A self-acclaimed pastor, has been docked before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defrauding woman who was seeking liberation from family curses.

The 44-year-old pastor, David Eludi, is accused of conspiring with others, now at large, to collect N352,000 from Florence Samuel, promising to use the funds for her liberation from family curses but met his downfall as he has been docked on charges of conspiracy, obtaining by false pretences, and stealing.

According to the Prosecutor, Dr Simon Uche, Eludi failed to fulfill the promised family liberation and instead converted the funds for personal use.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges during the court hearing.

The Magistrate, Mr L.K.J. Layeni, granted Eludi bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case has been adjourned until January 12, 2024, for mention.

The charges against Eludi include conspiracy, obtaining by false pretenses, and stealing, contravening sections 287, 314, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
