Emmanuel Adeoye

Amidst the recent activities trailing the duo of Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye (Mr.P), Kuti has again hit back at the latter, calling him a talentless artiste.

Berating him via his official Instagram handle, the son of the iconic Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, added that Mr. P is “a song stealer,” and one who couldn’t decide which way he intends to ply his musical career.

“Not only you are talentless, you are a gimmick.
Tried to go solo without your “packaging” what happened to your career? Shut up and go and steal someone’s song Jare,” he stated.

Seun Kuti further discredited Paul Okoye’s claim that Fela songs were played on radio, despite being anti-government.

“A historical punks. How many Felas song is played on radio today? In democracy! Talk more of military era. Our music has always been powered by the people not your platform godfathers!!

“In fact, Zombie was outrightly banned from being played. Fela had to smuggle Sorrow Tears and Blood into this country! Which Fela music dey radio.
Shut up and go and steal someone’s song Jare.”

Recall that the duo had been on a locker-heads since Seun Kuti’s comment in an online platform, Mic On podcast, hosted by Channels TV’s Seun Okinbaloye, referring to the presidential candidate of Labour party, Peter Obi, as an opportunist.

“He hasn’t had the time because he started too late. You can’t be telling me that just because you lost PDP primaries 18 months before the election, you suddenly started a movement, and you have a plan for the country.

“No, that’s opportunism. And it’s not an opportunist that will deliver Nigeria — not jumping on Labour Party. The Labour Party has a socialist structure. Peter Obi is a capitalist. Where are they going?”

Ever since, it has been a game of “hitting backs” between the two artistes.
