Former Minister of Transportation and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Ebenezer Babatope, has warned the aggrieved governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) popularly called the G-5, not to arrogate powers to themselves else they regret.
NEWSTODAYNG reports that Governor Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) are the members of the G-5 also known as integrity group.
The five governors have earlier demanded the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu as a precondition to support the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections.
In his words, “We have tried our best to placate them (G5). At this stage, if they want to go, goodluck to them. If they want to remain in PDP, the better for all of us.
“Governor Wike and his allies must not arrogate powers that they don’t have to themselves. If they do so, they will make mistakes and may regret it.
“We all love Wike for his courage but when you arrogate powers to yourself, then you may lose the support of the people.” Babatope said in an interview
