The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of five female students from Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) by armed men.
The incident occurred in the early hours of wednesday, barely two weeks after the off-campus hostel of Federal University, Gusau was invaded.
While speaking with news men, the State’s Police Spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq, said, “On October 4, 2023, at about 2 a.m., suspected terrorists kidnapped five female students of the federal university Dutsinma.”
He assured the general public that investigation is ongoing as one suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
While also assuring the general public that all hands are on deck to combat insecurity in the state, Sadiq added that: “The command is on top of the situation, as it has deployed all its tactical and operational assets with a view to rescuing the victims unhurt and arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act
