Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has vowed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would not regret nominating him as a minister if confirmed by the Senate.

According to the two-time local Government chairman, Governor and ministerial nominee during the ministerial screening at the National Assembly,

“I can assure you that if I am confirmed in whatever capacity, Mr President will not regret nominating me.

“It is on record I changed the landscape of Port Harcourt. It is on record in four years, I constructed nine flyovers by Julius Berger Contractor. There is no thing as magic. What is important is what passion and commitment do you? What love do you have for your people?

“When I was leaving, I was leaving as a hero. Women brought out their wrappers and said match on the wrappers, welcome our son, you have done well. This thing can be achieved if you have commitment and passion for the job.

“Knowing how hungry Mr President is to solving the problems of Nigeria, we have no choice but to give him that required support. I can assure you if I am being confirmed, in whatever capacity Mr President will not regret of nominating me”. He said

Wike who was among the first set of nominees to be screened was widely accepted by all and sundry in the senate due to his achievements.
