Nigeria’s athlete icon, Tobi Amusan secured her third consecutive Diamond League championship by clinching victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Eugene Diamond League.

Despite losing her world title just a month ago in Budapest, Hungary, Amusan made a triumphant comeback, defeating formidable competitors such as Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Keni Harrison, and Danielle Williams.

The 26-year-old athlete crossed the finish line with a season’s best time of 12.33 seconds.

Camacho-Quinn, representing Puerto Rico, finished in second place with a time of 12.38 seconds, while Harrison from the United States of America claimed the third spot with a time of 12.44 seconds.

Amusan now joins an exclusive club as the second woman to secure the 100m hurdles event in the Diamond League for three consecutive years, matching the feat of Dawn Harper-Nelson, who achieved this milestone in 2012, 2023, and 2014.

In another notable achievement for Nigeria, Ese Brume took second place in the Long Jump event, finishing just behind Serbia’s Ivana Vuleta.
