A family of six, comprising of a mother, and her five children have died after eating in Karkari village, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.

This was disclosed by the Ward Head of Karkari village, Yakubu Danazumi.

He revealed that the mother identified as Alhaqatu Abdulkarim, 35 and her children had died at intervals after they were taken to Gwarzo General Hospital for abdominal complication treatments.

His words, “The incident leading to the death of the six family members happened on Tuesday. Two of them died on the same day, two others died the following day and the mother died on Thursday while the last passed away on Friday.

“We have buried the victims according to Islamic rites and we will observe the seven days prayer for all of them coming Tuesday.

“The father passed away about seven months ago leaving behind the woman and her five children while the second wife had six children.

“So, the woman and her five children died after eating the local delicacy,” the ward head, Danazumi stated.

The identities of the children include: Usman Abdulkarim, nine years; Fiddausi Abdulkarim, 11 years; Hafsa Abdulkarim, seven years; Jamilu Abdulkarim, four years; and Bashari Abdulkarim, 19 years.
