In a devastating incident, Ifeoluwa Adekunle, a 300-level Economics student at Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, was brutally stabbed to death in her off-campus apartment.
The lifeless body of the young student was discovered in a pool of blood over the weekend, sending shockwaves through the student community.
According to an anonymous student, the assailants, yet to be identified, carried out the gruesome act during a visit to Ifeoluwa’s residence.
Dispelling rumours of cult-related motives, the student emphasized the urgency of police intervention, expressing concern over the perceived delay in addressing the case.
The Ondo State Police Command spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the tragic incident, revealing that state detectives have visited the crime scene, launching an investigation into the matter.
Odunlami ruled out cult-related activities but acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the motive for the heinous crime.
The slow response from the police has raised concerns among the student body, prompting a plea to the Ondo State Government to prioritize the case and ensure justice for the deceased.
