Fostering entrepreneurship among the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, Wema Bank has organized an empowerment inaugural business plan presentation with corps members receiving huge whooping sums of 800,000, 700,000, 600,000 respectively.

The event which was held recently at the permanent orientation camp Ise-Orun Emure Ekiti State with aim to equip corps members with the knowledge and skills needed to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys, had in attendance key officials from NYSC and Wema Bank.

The State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdulahi Shuiabu in his welcome address expressed his delight at the rare opportunity presented by Wema Bank to corps members, urging them to make the most of it.

“This is a rare opportunity and never expected it would be up to this. Use this opportunity righteously, I believe you are going to make it.” He said.

The participants who made it to top 10 out of 30 selected presented their business plans and defended their presentations with mouth-watering speeches and analyses.

Corps member Akpan from 2 Platoon who presented “Renewable Energy – Solar” emerged as the overall winner, receiving a cash prize of ₦800,000, Owoyemi from 9 platoon secured second place with a prize of ₦700,000, while Chineye from 7 platoon claimed third place and was awarded ₦600,000 and Peter Ayomide from 2 platoon came fourth and received ₦200,000.

In his closing remarks, Head of SAED, Olaoye T.J., extended gratitude to Wema Bank officials for their support towards the NYSC SAED Initiative.
