The Federal Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has assured the Commuters and Indigenes of Ekiti and Ondo State that work would commence on Ado-Akure Road.

Fashola, who stated this in TV Programme tagged “Journalists’ Hangout” on TVC News, added that the Federal Government would employ two Contractors in order to fast-track the construction.

NEWSTODAYNG gathered that Ado-Akure Road has been in a dilapidated condition for more than a month with no intervention from the state and federal government.

In his words, “The contract has been determined, we got some things we Contractor couldn’t access so, we are using new Contractor and we have also made alternative arrangement for additional funding.

“Hopefully, in the next few weeks with fingers-crossed, we will have that solutions and work would begin.

“This time, we plan to use two Contractors so that one would he working from Ekiti and another would work from Ondo end.

“We appeal to Commuters and Indigenes who use the road in both States to bear with us.”
