The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, has apprehended a 29-year-old man, Sogo Onilearo, for allegedly raping his 7-year-old step-daughter, (name withheld).

Onilearo, in a statement made available to Newsmen by the NSCDC spokesman in the State, Tolu Afolabi, raped the girl in Aisegba-Ekiti.

According to the statement, Onilearo gained canal knowledge of the girl and injured her private part in the process.

In a similar development, the command had also arrested two people, Femi Musa and Ilya Syrajudeen, for alleged stealing, burglary, and conspiracy.

The suspects were arrested by officers of the Counter Terrorism Unit at different locations in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Afolabi said Musa was arrested with some kilogrammes of hard drugs and substances suspected to be cannabis sativa in the Oshodi area of Ado-Ekiti, adding that Surajudeen was caught in a poultry farm stealing wires and other properties.

The NSCDC noted that all the suspects would be prosecuted after the conclusion of investigations.
