Nigerian singer, Charles Chibuezechukwu, known as Crayon, has said his debut album, “Trench To Triumph,” is a sonic representation of his personal experiences.
The album, according to Crayon, mirrors his journey from growing up in challenging conditions in the ghetto to achieving success after being signed to Mavin Records.
The popular singer recounted his upbringing in a one-room “face-me-I-face-you” apartment, where nine family members shared a confined space, highlighting that his mother, who persevered by selling fruits at Iyana-Iba for 19 years, played a significant role in shaping his character.
In a recent interview with Glitch Africa, Crayon expressed that “Trench To Triumph” encapsulates his reality and substance, representing the essence of everything he has become. He emphasized that the album is a testament to his journey, reflecting where he came from and the triumphant era he now enjoys.
