The Nigerian Team has claimed 47 gold medals, 33 silver and 40 bronze in the just concluded 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana to finish second position in 25 sports at the competition.
Nigeria got its highest medals in weightlifting with 32 medals; 16 gold, 10 silver and six bronze medals.
Nigeria won 22 medals In athletics, 12 medals in wrestling, 8 gold medals in boxing and 13 medals in arm wrestling.
However, Egypt finished first with 189 medals, comprising 101 gold, 46 silver and 42 bronze.
South Africa took the third spot on the medals table with 106 medals; 32 gold, 32 silver and 42 bronze medals.
