In a recent development at the Lead British School in Abuja, Maryam Hassan, a student caught on video bullying her classmate, Namtira Bwala, has issued a heartfelt apology.
The incident, which sparked outrage after video footage of Maryam assaulting Nassita circulated online, prompted swift action from school authorities.
The Lead British School has since been closed for three days to facilitate a thorough investigation into the matter.
In a video statement, Maryam expressed remorse for her actions, stating, “I am sincerely sorry. I wish this never happened.”
Her apology comes amid widespread condemnation of her behaviour and calls for accountability.
The school administration has assured the public that they are taking the incident seriously and will conduct a detailed investigation to ensure appropriate disciplinary measures are taken.
This includes providing support to Nassita and addressing any underlying issues within the school community.
