Nigerian singer, Augustine Obiabo Amedu, popularly known as Blackface, has accused his colleague, Shallipopi, of using his sound in his debut album, shakepopi.
Blackface, a former member of the group Plantashun Boiz, claimed that Shallipopi sampled his song ‘Enemy Plan’ in his recently released debut album ‘Shakepopi’ without seeking his permission.
Taking to his Instagram page on Sunday, Blackface shared a video expressing his frustration and questioning why Nigerian artists can’t create music without copying his sound or melody.
In pidgin, he wrote, “Una mean say if them no copy my sound or my melody them no go get song to sing? Ok I don make remix for una so make una better abandon this una project.”
Shallipopi has not responded to the allegations made by Blackface as at the press time of filing this report.
