The cost of house rents has become a topic of discussion among corp members obeying the clarion call in the city of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.
Various opinions reflect a range of experiences, from those benefiting from their primary places of assignment (PPAs) to others securing budget-friendly accommodations.
According to Ayomide Adeniyi, Karibo Peace and Ohenri Judith, they hailed their Primary Places of Assignment (PPAs) for availing them free accommodation services, adding that such offer is a testament of making life better for them amidst hike in cost of consumables and the prevailing economic turmoil.
Mount Daniel highlighted the impact of location on rent prices, stating that his environment offers a cheap and convenient option at 80 thousand naira (#80,000) per annual.
On the other hand, Izah Dorcas, shared her unusual arrangement, paying 600 thousand naira (#600,000) for a fully furnished house, while advising others to adapt their lifestyle to their financial means.
Ihenacho Comfort praised the affordability of rentals in Ado-Ekiti, paying a reasonable 150 thousand naira (#150,000) for a self-contained apartment; a rate she believes is hard to find in other states.
Young Hero, residing in a church family house, expressed a positive sentiment about the relative affordability of accommodations in the city.
Okorie Maurice expressed enthusiasm about the cost of rent in Ado-Ekiti, using the term “fantabulous” to describe the prices. He cited an example of securing a furnished flat with amenities for 650 thousand naira, (#650,000) emphasizing the affordability of living in the city.
With the aforementioned statistics, house rents in Ado-Ekiti has been budget-friendly, compared to other cities in the country.
