Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council has announced it’s plans to engage all candidates contesting the forthcoming election.

According to a statement by the secretary of the council, Kayode Babatuyi, the engagement which is part of their constitutional responsibilities, is to enable the candidates speak to the world on their programmes and manifestoes if elected.

He also disclosed that the exercise will also enable the electorate have an idea of the background, qualities and programmes of the candidates so as to cast their votes out of informed decision.

The engagement which has been tagged “Guest Platform” will begin this week with the APC house of representatives candidate, Akin Rotimi.

The Union also charged all candidates to honour the invitation adding that the programme will be given adequate publicity in all media organizations.
