A Vehicle Inspection Officer (name withheld) has been hospitalised in Ado Ekiti, the state capital of Ekiti State today, while discharging his duty after being hit by a reckless Driver.
According to the Patrol Commandant, Ekiti State VIO, Ade Ajayi Adewale, he said that the suspect crushed the Officer when he was being stopped to present the particulars of his Volkswagen Vehicle.
Ade Ajayi added that the suspect has been arrested and handed over to the Police as the Victim is in a critical situation.
He thereby advised Motorists to shun reckless driving, make their papers available whenever they are on the road and stop when being stopped for checking by any law enforcement agents.
“The Officer has been hospitalised because he is currently in a critical condition.”
“We have arrested the culprit and he is being handed over to the Police and with the look of things, he might go to jail for that action.”
“My advice to the Motorists is to shun reckless driving, make sure you get your papers available because these are the things that can cause issues.”
