An 18-seater bus belonging to St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Ise Ekiti, on Sunday morning was involved in a ghastly accident resulting in the death of three persons.
The accident happened when occupants of the bus mostly women, were on their way to Ado Ekiti to participate in an annual enrollment service.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that the accident happened at Afolu after Ise Ekiti when one of the bus tyres bust and the driver lost control of the vehicle which somersaulted several times.
Three of the women were said to have died on the spot while others sustained various degree of injuries.
Among the deceased were an Evangelist who just got wedded few weeks ago and also the wife of former Ise/Orun local government Chairman, Hon Adegbola while others who sustained injuries were rushed to the hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
The Anglican Bishop of Ekiti, Rt. Rev. Andrew Olusola Ajayi in his reaction commiserated with the families of deceased and St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Ise Ekiti and prayed God to heal those injured.
Speaking with newsmen, the Chairman of Ise Local Government, Hon. Bamikole Ayodele, mourned the deceased.
